Aaaannd this is hwere I ran out of paper, so, I'll write the ending instead! ^^
Before he could even respond to her, the sadistic Dewott disappeared from his very eyes. His ears twitched side to side, trying to hear any hit of where she could have gone. Joey knew Marine knew better than just let him hear her rustle the trees, but he was determined to stop her, or quite literally die trying.
The nape of his neck stood on end as he felt a rush of air narrowly miss his hind paw. He barely had time to glance back before he heard more coming. Joey rushed to jump out of the way, boosting his speed with Quick Attack. It was then that he managed to look over and see what were attacking him. Scalchops. Where are they coming from?! He couldn't very well look up to find out, for as if they were expecting his movements, the scalchop barrage increased speed in kind, forcing Joey to accidently run to the clearing's edge, until he met the trunk of a tree.
At least, he thought it was a tree. Joey realized all too late who it was that made his fur bristle with such intensity. Without hesitation she kicked him full-force into the air, then launched a powerful Water Gun to rocket him farther. Soaked, but still able, Joey forced his body to turn upright so he could have a clear look at the ground. Though he didn't want to, Joey knew if he could land a well-placed Hyper Fang or Final Gambit, he could at least have some even footing.
But the clearing below him was empty (save for the fleshly disposed body of the female sneasel. Joey's eyes darted desperately around the clearing as he felt his body reach the crest of his impending fall. Where was she?
"Looking for me?"
He couldn't beleive it. Joey glanced above, but barely had time to register what was happening before Marine's feet collided with his back, both of them plummeting back towards the clearing.
They landed with a sickening thud.
A huge dust cloud enveloped their clearing. From the dust cloud, a lone shadow stood tall, waiting until the dust cleared, and revealed her shape. She was staring at her victim, barely alive in the cracter his made.
"Any last words, my dear Joey?"
He could barely stay conscious, let alone speak, and as he embraced the darkness threatening to engulf him, he could hear her call his name.
His eyes snapped back open. Where....where was he? His mind felt as though a Durant was eating it from the inside out. His back ached, and he didn't recognize the part of the forest he was in. But, Joey could only really focus on one thing. Was it all-"JOEEEYYYYY!!"
He looked up in the direction he heard the yell. Not too far, the female sneasel stood on a broken tree trunk, hovered over two white paws, one clawed foot pressed against one of the paws, intending to send his damsel the long way down what looked like a long, long, LONG way down. "That voice..." Joey whispered to himself. There was no denying it. The voice in trouble, those white forepaws.
It was Marine!
He remembered now. They chased the female sneasel towards the edges of some cliffs in the Creeping Forest, and when he launched to attack first, the sneasel caught him by surprise and knocked him out. The latter left a sickening feeling in his stomach, but Marine's whimpers reminded there was time for that later.
He sprung to his feet as quietly as possible, then launched a close-contact Quick Attack at the female sneasel's back, sending her over the edge of the cliff down to the depths below. "Joey, the eggs!" Marine yelled, eyes on the bag falling past her.
Using the boost of his Quick Attack, Joey launched himself over the side of the tree, grabbed the bag with his teeth, and caught himself by catching the log with his tail.
The two glanced over at each other, and for the first time in a while, Joey smiled. Marine smiled back, releived he and the eggs were okay.
At least, until they heard the log cracking.
Giving in to their weight, the log broke off completely, and the two rescuers struggled to figure out what they were going to do.
Before they had long to panic, however, the two felt themselves land without dying! The two of them opened their eyes to be greeted by friendly tailow!
"Taylor!" Marine smiled. "You saved us!" Joey didn't feel quite as fortunate about the landing, though. In the split second that Taylor caught them on his back, Joey somehow ended up being Marine's cushion.
"Hey, where are the eggs?" he asked, noticing the bag was gone. "Treeko's going to catch them. I couldn't catch them with you guys," Taylor explained. "We saw you while we were in the area. Guess we came just in time!"
Marine smiled, agreeing before she and Taylor started to talk, but Joey stayed silent, still thinking about what he saw within his own mind. If there was a sign as any, that dream was it. I have to get stronger. I will prove myself.
Must submit. Then sleep. -_-
